Alcoholism Council
We at the Alcoholism Council strive to be Greater Cincinnati's leading advocate and resource on alcoholism and other drug abuse; and to promote effective solutions to these and other related problems. As a direct outgrowth of this mission, our goals are to: decrease the incidence of alcoholism and other drug dependence; eliminate the stigma associated with alcoholism and other drug dependence; provide services and support to those effected by alcoholism and other drug dependence; raise community awareness of the risks associated with the use and/or abuse of alcohol and other drugs; promote public policy that supports effective solutions to problems related to alcohol and other drug use/abuse; and to raise awareness of our role in the community.

First Step Home
We have served over 2500 women and children in the past 15 years. Our purpose to build healthier, happier and productive futures for women in recovery and their children. The agency provides individual and group substance abuse counseling, access to medical services, mental health assessments, life skills training, financial counseling, on-site child care, twelve step meetings and connections to job readiness programs. In addition, First Step Home offers a comprehensive child and family development program for children ages 0 to 12 who are living with their mothers at the facility.
